Concert Photography Lightroom Presets

65 Free Concert Lightroom Presets Download For Stunning Live Music Photos

Concert photography is one of the hardest genres to edit consistently. Stage lighting shifts color temperature in seconds, high ISO introduces grain, and neon strobes blow out highlights in ways that general-purpose presets can’t handle. These concert presets are built specifically for that challenge.

Each preset in this collection has been tested on real RAW files from rock concerts, EDM festivals, jazz clubs, and outdoor summer stages. They’re available in XMP and DNG – no email signup, no watermarks.

The presets below are organized by shooting scenario so you can go straight to what your photos need. Each section includes exact slider settings so you can replicate or fine-tune the look even without the preset file. Whether you shoot with a Canon R5 in a dark arena or a Sony A7 III at an outdoor stage, these starting points will save you significant editing time.

1. Moody Concert Presets

A moody preset is the go-to choice when you want to emphasize stage lighting contrasts and focus on silhouettes or darker tones. This style pulls deep shadows and muted colors forward, creating the surreal atmospheric vibe that defines live show photography.

2. Bright Neon Lights Preset

Concert lighting can be brutal: strobe lights, dim backdrops, and intense color shifts in the same frame. The Bright Neon Lights preset is designed specifically for high-energy EDM shows and festival stages where neon blues, magentas, and greens compete for attention. It amplifies those electric hues without letting them overpower the subject.

Exposure: +10%  |  Highlights: +20%  |  Contrast: +15% Vibrance: +30%  |  Blue Hue: +15%  |  Magenta: +15% Clarity: +10%  |  Vignette: −10%.

3. Vintage Concert Preset

Acoustic sets, jazz clubs, and indie venues call for a completely different editing approach than high-energy arena shows. The Vintage Warm adds a subtle film grain, slightly faded blacks, and warm amber highlights that make intimate concert moments feel timeless, like a shot from a classic 35mm roll.

Exposure: +5%  |  Highlights: −15%  |  Blacks: +10% (lifted for faded look) Temperature: +10% (warmer)  |  Saturation: −5%  |  Vibrance: −8% Grain: +25%  |  Sharpening: +5% (keep soft).

4. Black & White Drama Preset

Black-and-white editing strips away everything that isn’t emotion. No competing stage colors, no distracting background hues, just the performer’s expression, the sweat, the grain, and the energy of the moment. This preset is built around a strong S-curve with lifted midtones and crushed blacks for maximum tonal impact.

Saturation: −100%  |  Contrast: +35%  |  Clarity: +20% Highlights: −30%  |  Shadows: +15%  |  Blacks: −25% Grain: +20%  |  Vignette: −25%.

5. Vibrant Pop Preset

The Vibrant is built for concerts where color IS the story: pop stages, K-pop tours, Latin music festivals, and outdoor family-friendly shows where the energy is high, and the mood is celebratory. It lifts every color into a punchy, saturated range without tipping into oversaturation. The result looks natural yet alive, as if the photo has its own pulse.

6. Grit & Grain Preset

Underground shows, punk gigs, garage rock nights, and street festivals have a raw, unpolished energy that slick editing actively works against. The Grit & Grain preset leans into that roughness: heavy film grain, slightly faded shadows, and a desaturated palette. That makes the photo feel as if it were pulled from a contact sheet rather than a digital catalog. It’s authenticity by design.

Exposure: −10%  |  Shadows: +15% (reveal hidden detail)  |  Contrast: +5% Saturation: −10% (faded look)  |  Clarity: +10% Grain: +30%  |  Sharpening: +5% (keep unpolished).

7. Glow & Soft Fade Preset

Not every concert is a high-energy spectacle. Singer-songwriters, acoustic duos, string quartets in intimate venues, and candlelit club performances have a quieter emotional register that needs a different visual treatment. The Glow & Soft Fade preset softens contrast, slightly lifts the shadows, and adds a warm haze that makes tender, quiet moments feel as significant as they were in person.

Contrast: −15%  |  Shadows: +20%  |  Highlights: −10% Vibrance: −10%  |  Temperature: +5% (warmer) Vignette: −20%  |  Clarity: −5% (softens edges)  |  Sharpening: minimal.

8. Soft Spotlight Preset

This one solves one of concert photography’s most common problems: a performer lit well but competing with a busy, distracting background. By gently brightening the midtones and applying a strong centered vignette, this preset draws the viewer’s eye directly to the subject. It works particularly well for shots where the performer is isolated under a single spotlight.

Exposure: +10%  |  Highlights: −20%  |  Shadows: −10% Contrast: +15%  |  Clarity: +8% Vignette: −35% (strong, pulls focus inward)  |  Sharpening: +20%.

Usage: Focuses on adding a delicate spotlight effect that subtly draws attention to your subject.
Style: Elegant, soft, focused.

9. Retro Film Grain Preset

Hip-hop concerts, rap shows, and urban music events have a distinct visual aesthetic: cool blue shadows, matte highlights, and a flat tonal quality that feels closer to a music video still than a traditional concert photo. This preset delivers exactly that: a desaturated, film-like quality with cool shadows and a clean, editorial finish that works equally well for stage shots and crowd atmosphere images.

Exposure: −5%  |  Contrast: +20%  |  Highlights: −15% Shadows: +10%  |  Temperature: −10% (cooler)  |  Tint: −5% Saturation: −8%  |  Clarity: +15%  |  Grain: +10%.

Best For: Rock concerts, indie shows, and anything underground.
Usage: Emulates the look of old-school film, making shots feel timeless.
Style: Vintage, textured, gritty.

I had a rock gig recently where I used it to get that gritty texture. I had the entire set edited and delivered the same night. Not only did I save myself a lot of late-night eye strain, but the clients were also thrilled with the fast turnaround and stylish results. Win-win!

10. Stage Glow Preset

Many concert venues, especially theatres, cabaret spaces, and old-school rock clubs, use warm tungsten or amber stage lighting. This gives performers a beautiful golden glow. Instead of fighting warmth with cooling adjustments, this preset embraces it. The result is rich, amber-toned images with deep, warm shadows that feel like the musical equivalent of a perfect sunset.

Exposure: +5%  |  Highlights: −10%  |  Shadows: −5% | Temperature: +15% (push into amber)  |  Vibrance: +10% | Orange Saturation (HSL): +10%  |  Yellow Saturation: +8%  |  Vignette: −15%.

11. Muted Monochrome Preset

This one is for indie and alternative shows, or for those moments when color takes a backseat to mood. Muted monochrome gives a sophisticated, less-is-more aesthetic that feels like a cross between black & white and color.

Color Panel: Reds/Blues/Purples + (boost) | Other Colors − (reduce).

How to Get the Best Results from Concert Presets in Lightroom

Presets are starting points, not final edits. Concert lighting varies so dramatically between venues that even the best preset will need minor adjustments on a shoot-by-shoot basis. Here’s how to make these presets work across every situation:

Start with exposure correction before applying any preset. If your original photo is significantly over- or underexposed, apply the preset to a corrected version of the image, not the raw problem file. Presets are calibrated for normally exposed images, and a severely underexposed shot will fight the preset’s shadow adjustments.

Use the Tone Curve for venue-specific tweaks. Once the preset is applied, the Tone Curve is your single most powerful fine-tuning tool. A gentle S-curve adds contrast to flat preset results; lifting the lower-left anchor point opens up crushed blacks common in dark venue shots.

Save venue-specific variations as new presets. If you photograph the same venue regularly: a local concert hall, a club residency, a recurring festival, dial in the preset for that venue’s specific lighting and save it as a new variation. Over time, you’ll build a library of venue-specific presets that make batch editing even faster.

Apply presets to the whole shoot, then batch-adjust by lighting change. Most concerts have 3–5 distinct lighting phases (intro, main set, encore, etc.). Group your shots by lighting phase in Lightroom, apply the preset to one representative shot per group, fine-tune it, then sync it across that group. This is the professional workflow for quickly delivering full concert galleries.

Last Words

Concert photography sits at the intersection of technical precision and emotional instinct. You have to be fast, adaptable, and comfortable making creative decisions in the dark. But the editing phase is where a great shoot becomes a great portfolio, and that’s where these presets earn their place.

This collection is organized around real shooting scenarios: dark, moody arenas, vibrant neon festivals, intimate acoustic venues, warm-lit theatres, and open-air summer stages. Each one has been calibrated to address the specific lighting challenges of its environment. They’re targeted tools built specifically for concert photography.

Start with the preset that matches your venue type, apply it to a reference shot, make the minor adjustments that every unique shooting situation requires, and sync across your set. Your editing time drops dramatically. Your consistency across the entire gallery increases. And the final photos convey the feeling of being there, which is the whole point of concert photography.

Share your results in the comments. We’d genuinely love to see what you’re shooting.
